These terms explain how we'll work together. They apply to every website, marketing, branding and print design service provided by Copperwren Studio, run by Aimee as a sole trader in Royal Leamington Spa. Before work starts, I'll confirm your package, price and timings in writing.
Mockups
Your homepage mockup is free and comes with no obligation. If you decide not to go ahead, there is nothing to pay, and the design remains mine.
Payment
One-off websites are paid 50% upfront to book your project and 50% at launch. Branding, print and review card designs are paid 50% upfront and 50% when you approve the final files. Printing is paid before I place the order, at cost. Monthly plans are invoiced monthly in advance. Invoices are due within 14 days.
Cancelling a project
You can cancel a project at any time by emailing me. You pay for the work done up to that point, and never more than the agreed price. If that's less than the deposit you've paid, I'll refund the difference within 14 days.
If you're buying as a consumer (for yourself, not for a business), you also have 14 days from agreeing the work to cancel without giving a reason. If you ask me to start during those 14 days and then cancel, you pay only for the work done before you told me.
Your content
You're responsible for making sure anything you give me, such as text, logos and photos, belongs to you or that you have permission to use it. I'll write copy with you and you approve it before launch.
Changes
One round of changes is included in every website build and print design, and two rounds of logo changes in the branding starter pack. Further changes, or work outside your package, will be quoted before I do it, so there are no surprises.
Printing
Before anything is printed, I send you a final proof to check. Please read it carefully, because once you approve it, reprints for mistakes in the approved proof are charged at cost.
Monthly plans
Site and Care has a 12 month minimum term, because your website is built upfront with no setup fee. After 12 months it continues month to month and can be cancelled with one month's notice. The Growth Plan can be cancelled at any time with one month's notice.
Ownership
Once a one-off website is paid in full, the website and its content are yours. Once branding or print designs are paid in full, your logo, brand files and designs are yours to use however you like. Your domain name is always registered in your name. On one-off websites, the domain is charged at cost and renews yearly; I'll remind you before it's due. On Site and Care, the domain and its renewal are included while you're on the plan. On Site and Care, the website and its content become yours once you've completed the 12 month minimum term, and if you leave after that I'll help you move it elsewhere free of charge. If you want to leave during the minimum term, you can pay the remaining months and take the website with you.
Results
I work hard to help you be found and win customers, but nobody can guarantee search rankings or a set number of enquiries, so I don't promise them.
Limits of responsibility
I'll do the work with reasonable care and skill. My total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you've paid me in the 12 months before it. I'm not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits, or for problems caused by services I don't control, like your hosting provider, booking system, email provider or Google. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law doesn't allow me to limit, or your legal rights as a consumer.
